Week One: Getting to Know the Basics of TWD Road to Survival

by

My first steps in TWD Road to Survival were as easy as pie: Kill a few zombies, make decisions, find new characters, bring home survivors, level up. I got into the mode rather quickly, until the game stopped me cold.

During my first few days of gameplay everything went super smooth. I had reached level 6 before I knew it and I obviously was hooked. Dishes started to pile up in my real-life-kitchen and then the REAL trouble started: All of a sudden my house turned out too small. I had collected a mass of survivors and had to leave them behind. Crap! So what’s next? I decided to upgrade my house and build a new training ground – which is also a great way to turn survivors into characters and create new room for even more survivors. The new house worked alright for a few days, but soon it got too small once again. So. Next step: Build a second house and upgrade the two of them even more. Also build another training site to create more characters that I could use for leveling up my team.

TWD Road to Survival Training
Traning survivors is a great way to receive new characters. This empties your houses and makes room for new surviors – and you can use new characters to level up your favourite team members.
TWD Road to Survival Level up characters
I leveled up Mac to give him some more firepower. Below you can see the list of characters that are suitable for a Mac-level-up. If their name is displayed green, this means that they are extra good for this level up. Today mac is mostly out of us, as I received some other characters with even more powerful assets.
TWD Road to Survival Upgrading Characters
You can upgrade after your character has reached a certain level. Glenn needs to be level 40 – and it also is quite a little investment to upgrade him: 132,000 units of food – that’s many raids to go.

I went to work fiercely, but soon found out that I would need A LOT OF STONES to upgrade for more options and residents, and A LOT OF FOOD to train them! To have more and bigger houses, you’ll need a bigger town-hall, hence EVEN MORE STONES! That was when my natural barrier to raid my fellow gamers completely vanished into thin air. There’s nothing like a successful raid to gather supplies and build a zombie slayer reputation in this game, belive me!

So after just a few days I had learned the basic rule of The Walking Dead: Don’t be a sissy girl or you won’t go far. Second rule: Everything’s connected. Just like in real life.
